Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Lecturer Conducts Joint Supervision for Postgraduate Students of Diponegoro University

Semarang – In an effort to strengthen international academic collaboration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuraidah Sulaiman from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) conducted a joint supervision activity for postgraduate students of Diponegoro University (UNDIP). This activity is part of the academic collaboration between Diponegoro University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in the development of education, research, and scientific publications.

The joint supervision activity was carried out through a mentoring process for postgraduate students in their research development, leading to the production of scientific articles with potential for publication in international journals. The supervision covered discussions on research direction, methodology development, refinement of research findings, and improvement of manuscript quality prior to publication.

The supervision was conducted both online and offline. This mechanism provides flexibility for lecturers and students to engage in consultations and receive continuous feedback. Under the joint supervision collaboration document, the supervision also includes research consultation, monitoring of research progress, and strengthening publication opportunities and cross-institutional research collaboration.

The collaboration is also aimed at providing international research exposure to postgraduate students while encouraging the creation of joint publication outputs. The joint supervision cooperation between UTM and UNDIP specifically includes support for achieving collaborative publication outputs, including opportunities for publication in Scopus-indexed journals.

This activity is a tangible manifestation of the commitment of Diponegoro University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to expand their international academic networks. Through joint supervision, both institutions not only strengthen the quality of postgraduate student supervision but also open up broader opportunities for research development and scientific publications at the international level.

Moving forward, this collaboration is expected to continue to grow through various other forms of cooperation, including joint research, scientific publications, academic exchanges, and capacity development for students and faculty members at both universities.
