Diponegoro University Student Supports MSME Digital Transformation Through Digital Marketing Initiative

Campuranom, Central Java – July 28, 2026 – As part of the Community Service Program (KKN IDBU Team 21), Arista Kusumajati, a Business Administration student from Diponegoro University, implemented a digital transformation initiative for Dapur Mak Iwi, a local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) owned by Mrs. Siwi in Putihan Hamlet, Campuranom Village.

The initiative was designed to strengthen the business’s digital presence and expand its market reach by integrating digital marketing tools into its daily operations. Prior to the program, Dapur Mak Iwi relied primarily on offline sales and had limited digital visibility. Through this initiative, the business is expected to reach a broader customer base beyond the local community while improving its competitiveness in today’s digital economy.

The digitalization program consisted of several strategic activities, including the installation of a business banner to enhance brand visibility, the registration of the business location on Google Maps, and the creation of Instagram and WhatsApp Business accounts as official platforms for product promotion and customer engagement. These improvements are expected to make the business more accessible to potential customers while establishing a stronger and more professional digital identity.

Mrs. Siwi, the owner of Dapur Mak Iwi, expressed her appreciation for the initiative. She stated that the newly installed business banner, Google Maps listing, and digital communication channels would make it easier for customers to locate the business and access information about its products. She hopes that these digital improvements will increase public awareness of Dapur Mak Iwi and contribute to the growth of her business.

This initiative demonstrates the practical application of digital marketing knowledge acquired in the Business Administration Study Program while reflecting Diponegoro University’s commitment to empowering local communities through student-led community engagement. By embracing digital technology, Dapur Mak Iwi is expected to strengthen its business competitiveness, improve customer accessibility, and create new opportunities for sustainable business growth.

Furthermore, the program contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of local MSMEs as drivers of regional economic development. It also supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by promoting the adoption of digital technology as an innovative strategy for business development and marketing. Through this initiative, Dapur Mak Iwi is expected to become an example of successful digital transformation for other MSMEs in Campuranom Village, encouraging broader adoption of digital technologies to achieve sustainable economic development.
