Semarang, May 25, 2026 – The Research and Academic Development division of HMPS AB organized the Student Comprehensive Orientation for Project & Essay (SCOPE). This work program aims to provide Business Administration students with a thorough understanding of the undergraduate thesis preparation process. The event took place on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the FISIP Undip Auditorium, with Business Administration students from the cohorts of 2024 and 2025 attending as participants. The workshop also featured Dr. Reni Shinta Dewi, S.Sos., M.Si. and Dr. Andi Wijayanto, S.Sos., M.Si. as the keynote speakers. This session served as an essential platform for students to acquire foundational knowledge regarding both academic theses and applied final projects (karya bidang).
The choice of topics regarding the structure and stages of thesis preparation, as well as the foundational understanding of applied final projects, was based on a survey previously conducted among Business Administration students, specifically those from the classes of 2024 and 2025. This was done to ensure that the selected topics precisely met the students’ needs. To maximize the delivery of the material, the committee invited speakers who are highly competent in their respective fields. Consequently, Dr. Andi Wijayanto, S.Sos., M.Si. presented on the structure and preparation stages of the undergraduate thesis, while Dr. Reni Shinta Dewi, S.Sos., M.Si. delivered the material on the fundamentals of applied final projects.
SCOPE carried the theme “Strategic Preparation: The Key to a Successful Final Project Journey.” This theme emphasizes the importance of thorough preparation when facing the final project as one of the key academic milestones toward graduation. Through this theme, participants were expected to gain a more comprehensive understanding of both undergraduate theses and applied final projects, ranging from their characteristics and development processes to considerations in choosing the type of final project that best aligns with their individual interests and academic goals.

SCOPE was attended by 206 participants in total, including 30 students from the class of 2024 and 7 students from the class of 2025 (Note: based on the total provided). The participants showed high enthusiasm for the material presented. Through this event, Business Administration students from the classes of 2024 and 2025 gained a foundational understanding of undergraduate theses and applied final projects. This understanding is expected to serve as a solid groundwork for students in deciding which form of final writing they will pursue as a graduation requirement.
